Responsibilities

• Lead rolling stock engineering projects: new vehicle procurement, modifications, rebuilds, fleet management
• Oversee QA/QC across locomotives, multiple units, and passenger rail cars
• Conduct first article inspections and assess manufacturing quality before and after delivery
• Perform on-site manufacturing inspections including welding inspections
• Organize and lead quality audits, supervising inspection teams and subcontractors
• Participate in design reviews and ensure QA processes and approval gates are implemented
• Implement and maintain QA/QC procedures for engineering models, simulations, and deliverables
• Prepare inspection reports and technical documentation
• Serve as technical liaison between clients, stakeholders, engineering teams, manufacturers, subcontractors
• Support procurement and rebuild programs verifying compliance with standards
• Monitor fleet delivery performance and recommend corrective actions
• Contribute to client relationship management and business development

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field
• Rail industry experience in vehicle/transit procurement, manufacturing quality, inspections, compliance
• Strong QA/QC methodologies, quality audits, manufacturing processes, inspection procedures knowledge
• Certified Quality Auditor and Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) desirable
• Multi-modal rail knowledge (high-speed, intercity, commuter, light rail, subway)
• Experience with FRA and FTA regulatory authorities
• Fleet management and post-delivery inspection experience preferred
• Leadership and supervision of inspectors and multidisciplinary teams
• Strong written and verbal communication, technical report writing
• Project management and analytical problem-solving skills
