About the company

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Corporate Affairs, Director – Obesity and Related Conditions based in the United States.

This senior communications role will lead integrated global communications for a high-profile investigational medicine across obesity and related conditions.

You will translate complex clinical, scientific, and regulatory developments into compelling narratives for diverse audiences.

The position plays a critical role in shaping communications around clinical data, regulatory milestones, medical congresses, and future launch activities.

You will operate as a strategic partner across Medical, Clinical Development, Regulatory, Commercial, Investor Relations, and Corporate Affairs.

The role also involves guiding global affiliates to adapt communications for local markets while maintaining a consistent overarching strategy.

Success will require strong judgment, strategic thinking, stakeholder influence, and the ability to operate effectively in a highly matrixed healthcare environment.

This is a remote US-based opportunity with occasional travel to headquarters and key industry events.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute integrated global communications strategies across obesity and related-condition indications, aligned with broader corporate and therapeutic-area priorities.
  • Create and continuously refine indication-specific narratives, key messages, and communication frameworks that support the overarching product strategy.
  • Lead communications planning and execution around major clinical data readouts, product-development milestones, regulatory events, medical congresses, and other high-impact moments.
  • Partner closely with Clinical Development, Medical, Regulatory, Commercial, Investor Relations, and Corporate Affairs teams to ensure communications are strategically aligned and effectively support development and launch objectives.
  • Serve as a trusted communications advisor across cross-functional teams, helping translate complex scientific, clinical, and business information into clear and compelling messaging.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to maintain consistent narratives across media, internal communications, digital channels, executive engagements, and other communications platforms.
  • Provide strategic counsel on disease education and thought-leadership initiatives, ensuring communications reinforce the broader obesity and related-conditions narrative.
  • Contribute to internal communications designed to inform and engage employees around important development and business milestones.
  • Equip regional and affiliate communications teams with strategic guidance, messaging, and resources to implement global communications plans effectively in local markets.
  • Support communications activities associated with competitive product launches and evolving market dynamics.
  • Exercise strong judgment in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment while maintaining accuracy, consistency, and alignment across communications.
Requirements
  • Doctorate degree plus at least 4 years of communications or public relations experience; or Master’s degree plus at least 7 years of relevant experience; or Bachelor’s degree plus at least 9 years of relevant experience.
  • Ideally, 10–12 years of experience in communications, public relations, or corporate affairs within biotechnology, pharmaceutical, healthcare, or a closely related industry.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and executing integrated global communications strategies for investigational products, particularly around clinical data, regulatory milestones, and launch communications.
  • Experience supporting product launches in competitive healthcare or pharmaceutical markets.
  • Strong understanding of communications within complex, highly regulated scientific and healthcare environments.
  • Proven ability to work with global affiliates and adapt communications strategies for regional and local markets while maintaining global strategic consistency.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate across highly matrixed organizations, including senior executives and multidisciplinary stakeholders.
  • Exceptional strategic thinking and the ability to turn complex scientific, clinical, and business information into clear, credible, and compelling communications.
  • Experience across multiple communications disciplines, including media relations, issues management, digital and social media, internal communications, and thought leadership.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with strong attention to detail and sound professional judgment.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, navigate ambiguity, and remain effective in a fast-moving and evolving environment.
  • Strong stakeholder-management skills and the ability to build trust and influence without relying solely on formal authority.

  • Competitive annual base salary of $180,551.90–$244,276.10 USD, with actual compensation determined by factors including skills, experience, and qualifications.
