Data Science is an integral component of Coinbase's product and decision-making process, working in partnership with Product, Engineering, and Design.
Responsibilities
- Conduct analysis and deep dives on ambiguous business problems, producing insights and recommendations that guide decision-making
- Own a broad scope of data and metrics, from core logging to data visualizations
- Guide code reviews, provide SQL and Python expertise, and create well-maintained ETL jobs
- Maintain a high bar for statistical rigor, ensuring experimentation and causal analyses build stakeholder confidence
Requirements
- BA/BS in a quantitative field (Math, Stats, Physics, Computer Science) with 5+ years of relevant experience, or PhD with 3+ years
- Demonstrated experience driving impactful data science projects in ambiguous problem spaces
- Ability to influence stakeholders by synthesizing data learnings into compelling stories
- Practical expertise applying complex modeling frameworks to business problems
- Professional experience using SQL and Python
- Experience working with digital products in an iterative development cycle
- Responsible use of generative AI tools with human-in-the-loop practices
Conditions
- Annual base salary range: £122,400 — £136,000 GBP (excluding equity and bonus)
- Total compensation may include equity, bonus eligibility, and benefits
