Responsibilities
- Apply traffic engineering expertise to rail-related projects, including traffic signal preemption, grade crossing safety, traffic operations studies
- Conduct traffic and preemption analysis and develop engineering designs
- Visit project sites to observe existing conditions and support project development
- Review and prepare engineering plans, studies, technical documentation
- Coordinate with Class I railroads, state DOTs, local agencies, consultants, and internal teams
- Communicate directly with clients and project stakeholders
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on complex projects
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
- Valid Professional Engineer (PE) license
- 8+ years of experience in traffic or transportation engineering
- Demonstrated experience with traffic engineering design and related technical analysis
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and mathematical skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with team members, clients, consultants, and other stakeholders
Conditions
- Colorado base salary range of $125,000 - $173,000 USD
- Minnesota base salary range of $115,000 - $160,000 USD
