Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor Solution Architects and engineering teams while establishing architecture standards, governance frameworks, best practices, and technical direction.
- Define solution and enterprise architecture strategies, technology roadmaps, modernization plans, and transformation initiatives aligned with organizational objectives.
- Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of scalable enterprise applications using the Appian platform.
- Drive enterprise application integration through APIs, microservices, Spring Boot, Kafka, workflow automation, and other modern integration technologies.
- Design and oversee secure, highly available web and mobile applications across AWS and hybrid cloud environments.
- Partner with business, technology, and executive stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable, sustainable, and technically sound solutions.
- Provide architecture governance and technical leadership throughout the full software development lifecycle.
- Drive application modernization, DevOps, CI/CD, cloud-native development, observability, performance engineering, and platform reliability initiatives.
- Evaluate and incorporate AI/ML capabilities and intelligent automation into enterprise solutions where they provide meaningful business value.
- Establish and enforce security practices covering IAM, API security, Secure SDLC, application security, and data protection.
- Lead the investigation and resolution of complex architecture, integration, performance, and production issues.
- Promote technical excellence by coaching architects and engineers, sharing expertise, and encouraging continuous improvement.
- Support architecture decisions involving relational and NoSQL databases, enterprise data architecture, monitoring, and performance management.
- Establish effective monitoring and observability practices using technologies such as Splunk and AWS CloudWatch.
Requirements
- 10+ years of progressive experience in Solution Architecture, Software Engineering, Technology Leadership, or related disciplines.
- 3–5+ years of experience leading Solution Architects, architecture practices, engineering teams, or comparable technical organizations.
- Proven experience designing and delivering large-scale digital platforms, customer-facing web and mobile applications, and cloud-native solutions.
- Demonstrated expertise in Appian architecture, enterprise application development, workflow automation, integration, and application modernization.
- Strong AWS cloud architecture experience, including designing secure, scalable, highly available, and resilient cloud solutions.
- Strong knowledge of enterprise application integration, APIs, microservices, Spring Boot, Kafka, and modern application architectures.
- Experience with DevOps, CI/CD, cloud-native development, automation, and modern software delivery practices.
- Knowledge of AI/ML solutions and intelligent automation, with the ability to identify opportunities to apply these technologies within enterprise environments.
- Strong understanding of IAM, API security, Secure SDLC, data protection, and enterprise security principles.
- Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, data architecture, performance engineering, monitoring, and observability.
- Familiarity with Splunk, AWS CloudWatch, and related enterprise monitoring technologies.
- Strong understanding of architecture governance, technology strategy, roadmap development, and digital transformation.
- Exceptional stakeholder management and executive communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to technical, business, and executive audiences.
- Demonstrated leadership, coaching, mentoring, and team-development capabilities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience may be considered.
- Appian, AWS, or other relevant architecture certifications are a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills and the ability to work professionally with diverse stakeholders.

- Competitive compensation of $80–$95 per hour, depending on skills, experience, education, certifications, location, and other job-related factors.
