Asana is building a human-agent operating system, expanding its AI Suite to turn manual work into scalable, intelligent systems.
Hiring software engineers across core AI teams: platform foundations, runtime infrastructure, trust/evaluation/observability, and product surfaces.
Responsibilities
Own end-to-end implementation of small-to-medium features and services powering intelligent collaboration and agentic automation.
Write clean, modular, well-tested code, evaluating trade-offs between latency, cost, and reliability when integrating foundation models, prompt pipelines, and workflow orchestration.
Maintain and improve Areas of Responsibility, monitor production pipelines, participate in on-call rotations, diagnose bugs in asynchronous/distributed systems.
Break down feature specs into engineering milestones, provide technical estimates, execute to advance AI Suite adoption.
Elevate code quality, advocate for test coverage and technical debt remediation, conduct rigorous code reviews.
Requirements
2+ years of professional software engineering experience shipping production code in modern distributed architectures, web services, or data-intensive systems.
Strong command of software design fundamentals, testing practices, and data structures.
Experience or curiosity with LLMs, prompt pipelines, vector databases, or agentic frameworks.
Ability to take a technical spec, evaluate trade-offs, and ship to production with minimal oversight.
High bar for code health, maintainable code, comprehensive test plans.
Experience collaborating with Product Managers, Designers, Data Scientists, and engineers.
Conditions
Based in Vancouver office with office-centric hybrid schedule (in-office Mon, Tue, Thu; optional WFH Wed; Fri depends on role).
Estimated base salary range: $146,000–$162,000.
