Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead technical design and architecture for the Commerce Platform: product catalog, promotion engine, subscription and entitlement systems
• Partner with product management and cross-functional engineering teams to define the technical roadmap
• Drive end-to-end delivery of complex projects from scoping through rollout and post-launch iteration
• Mentor and grow engineers through design reviews, code reviews, and coaching
• Leverage AI tools such as code assistants and automated testing
• Own platform observability, reliability, and performance: define SLOs, lead incident response, drive post-mortems

Requirements

• 10+ years of software engineering experience, 2+ years as tech lead or staff engineer
• Mastery in at least one language (e.g. Ruby, Java, Python, Go)
• Deep experience with large-scale backend platform systems, ideally in commerce, billing, subscription management, pricing
• Strong command of distributed systems, API design, and service reliability practices
• Experience with AI tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent

Conditions

• Hybrid, 2-3 days per week in office
• Base salary $223,000–$278,000 for San Francisco, Seattle & New York, plus equity (RSUs)
