Responsibilities
- Drive growth of DMC services across existing accounts and new business prospects in collaboration with commercial and operational teams.
- Build, strengthen, and expand relationships with key DMC stakeholders and decision-makers within client organizations.
- Lead DMC sales opportunities from initial discovery through solution development, pricing, proposal creation, bid defense, and contracting.
- Research client requirements and business challenges and translate them into relevant DMC service solutions.
- Develop and execute prospecting activities, including email outreach, cold calling, conferences, networking, and other business development initiatives.
- Monitor market trends, competitive developments, and emerging opportunities within the DMC landscape and communicate actionable insights to commercial stakeholders.
- Maintain strong knowledge of available services, capabilities, and clinical research market needs.
- Manage accounts, opportunities, contacts, activities, and communications accurately within Salesforce or another CRM platform.
- Partner with internal operational teams to support successful implementation of sold solutions and maintain strong client satisfaction.
- Support the planning and execution of quarterly field marketing activities, including webinars, conferences, presentations, customer events, and industry engagements.
- Develop territory and key-account strategies that maximize revenue opportunities and customer engagement.
- Manage travel planning and resources effectively to maximize customer interactions and commercial impact.
- Submit timely and accurate expense reports.
- Travel approximately 40–60% of the time to support customers, conferences, and business development activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a relevant field, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
- At least 5 years of experience in sales or account management within the life sciences industry.
- Strong knowledge of Data Monitoring Committee requirements, market needs, customer challenges, and the competitive landscape.
- Solid understanding of the clinical research industry, preferably with exposure to study participant protection or human research protection.
- Demonstrated ability to identify customer needs and translate them into compelling, value-driven solutions.
- Experience developing and executing territory and key-account sales plans is preferred.
- Proven ability to sell to established customers while also identifying, prospecting, and converting new customers.
- Strong consultative and interpersonal selling skills with the ability to establish credibility and influence stakeholders.
- Strong business acumen and strategic thinking.
- Excellent verbal, written, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Proficiency with CRM platforms, preferably Salesforce.
- Ability to work effectively and independently in a remote environment.
- Strong collaboration skills and the ability to coordinate effectively with commercial, operational, and marketing teams.
- Comfortable managing multiple opportunities, priorities, and deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods at a workstation and occasionally carry, raise, or lower objects weighing up to 10 pounds.
- Strong focus, attention to detail, listening, comprehension, and verbal communication skills.
- Willingness and ability to travel approximately 40–60% of the time.
Conditions
- Base salary range of $80,000–$160,000, depending on location, skills, experience, and other relevant factors.
