This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Software Engineer, Mobile (React Native) based in the United States.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable React Native applications for both iOS and Android.
- Build reusable, accessible, secure, and high-performing components using React Native and TypeScript.
- Influence and guide architectural decisions covering navigation, state management, data access, persistence, and native platform integrations.
- Integrate REST and GraphQL APIs, authentication services, analytics platforms, and third-party SDKs.
- Take ownership of features throughout the complete lifecycle, from technical design and implementation through testing, release, monitoring, and production support.
- Collaborate with Product, Design, QA, and backend engineering teams to define requirements and deliver effective technical solutions.
- Improve mobile application performance, reliability, automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, tooling, and release processes.
- Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, knowledge sharing, and responsible technical-debt reduction.
- Identify opportunities to improve engineering workflows and apply AI-assisted development tools where they can increase productivity and quality.
- Contribute to troubleshooting, production support, and continuous improvement of mobile applications.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, including at least 3 years building and supporting production React Native applications.
- Strong proficiency in React Native, React, TypeScript, and modern JavaScript across both iOS and Android platforms.
- Deep understanding of mobile application architecture, navigation, state management, component design, data persistence, and platform-specific behaviors.
- Experience integrating REST or GraphQL APIs, authentication systems, analytics services, and third-party integrations.
- Hands-on experience with automated testing, mobile application builds and signing, and Apple App Store and Google Play release processes.
- Strong engineering fundamentals with the ability to produce clean, secure, testable, maintainable, and scalable code.
- Experience with CI/CD, mobile release workflows, observability, crash reporting, or related engineering practices is advantageous.
- Strong ownership and accountability, with the ability to take features from conception through production with limited oversight.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills within distributed, cross-functional engineering teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities and a practical approach to resolving complex technical challenges.
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools or incorporating AI into products or engineering workflows.
- Experience with high-traffic consumer applications is a plus.
- Familiarity with payments, digital wallets, native hardware, push notifications, deep linking, offline workflows, accessibility, or internationalization is desirable.
- Experience with ticketing, concessions, point-of-sale, inventory, ordering, loyalty, cinema, entertainment, or hospitality platforms is an advantage.
- Familiarity with Node.js, Ruby on Rails, relational databases, Redis, or AWS is a plus.
- Willingness to travel occasionally within the United States several times per year and, in rare circumstances, internationally.
