This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Mobile Automation Engineer based in Brazil.
This is an opportunity to build and maintain high-quality automated testing for native iOS and Android applications within a technology-driven logistics environment.
Responsibilities
- Write, maintain, and enhance Playwright test suites for native iOS and Android applications, including throughout a major application overhaul.
- Execute structured test plans and manual regression testing to validate release quality before and during automation development.
- Diagnose flaky tests and accurately distinguish genuine engineering defects from test-execution, environment, or automation issues.
- Run and maintain parallelized automated test suites through BrowserStack and GitHub Actions to improve execution speed and reliability.
- Record and communicate test results through TestRail while maintaining clear and actionable testing documentation.
- Review existing manual test cases and determine appropriate opportunities for transitioning coverage into automation.
- Develop a strong understanding of interconnected systems, including driver accounts, permissions, order configurations, and device conditions, to create realistic regression coverage.
- Collaborate with developers, product managers, and leadership to understand requirements and ensure comprehensive test coverage.
- Identify, document, prioritize, and track software defects using appropriate issue-tracking processes.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvements in QA workflows, standards, and automation practices.
- Analyze automated and manual test results and provide clear recommendations and actionable feedback to development teams.
- Explore and implement AI-powered testing tools and techniques that can improve automation efficiency, coverage, and accuracy.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of experience in QA or test automation, with equivalent hands-on experience accepted in place of a formal degree.
- Hands-on experience testing native iOS and Android applications.
- Practical experience developing and maintaining automated tests with Playwright.
- Experience working with TestFlight and TestRail.
- Experience designing and executing parallelized automated test suites.
- Strong troubleshooting skills, particularly the ability to identify flaky tests and differentiate automation or execution issues from genuine engineering defects.
- Ability to quickly understand interconnected application systems, including accounts, permissions, order settings, and device conditions, and translate that knowledge into comprehensive test scenarios.
- Strong analytical, investigative, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
- Ability to work collaboratively with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders.
- Availability to overlap with the team’s morning Eastern Time sync meeting.
- Experience with Python, Java, or another programming language is a plus.
- Previous experience with mobile applications, AI-powered automation tools, manual testing, APIs, or SQL is advantageous.
- Familiarity with Angular is beneficial for understanding application behavior, though development experience is not required.
