This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Director, Regional Education Partnerships based in the United States.
This is a strategic leadership opportunity focused on expanding partnerships across the U.S. K-12 education ecosystem.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a national strategy for partnerships with Regional Education Service Organizations (RESOs), aligning programs with customer success, retention, adoption, and growth objectives.
- Identify, prioritize, cultivate, and manage strategic relationships with regional education organizations across the United States, including BOCES, Intermediate Units, Educational Service Centers, Area Education Agencies, technology cooperatives, and similar organizations.
- Establish partnership frameworks, operating models, governance processes, standards, and success metrics based on strategic value, influence, customer reach, and engagement.
- Serve as executive sponsor for key regional partnerships and build trusted relationships with senior leaders across the education ecosystem.
- Leverage regional partnerships to increase customer adoption, engagement, satisfaction, and retention while reducing friction and expanding local support capabilities.
- Develop programs that enable partners to provide localized onboarding, training, enablement, customer advocacy, and ongoing support.
- Create certification, training, and enablement programs that ensure partners have the knowledge and resources required to effectively support customers.
- Collaborate with Professional Services, Education Services, Product Management, Support, and Customer Success teams to develop scalable partner resources and knowledge-sharing models.
- Act as the internal voice of the regional education partner community, ensuring partner insights inform product, service, support, and customer experience priorities.
- Lead cross-functional initiatives and facilitate alignment between internal teams and strategic external partners, influencing investment and partnership priorities without relying on direct authority.
- Partner with Sales leadership to identify district expansion, consortium, referral, co-selling, and new customer acquisition opportunities where appropriate.
- Support go-to-market initiatives involving state, regional, and consortium-led opportunities while ensuring commercial growth follows naturally from strong customer and partner relationships.
- Establish and monitor measures such as gross and net revenue retention, customer satisfaction, adoption, customer health, support burden, escalation rates, partner engagement, certification, partner-influenced revenue, referrals, and expansion within partner-served districts.
- Use partner and customer insights to continuously improve partnership maturity, service delivery, and overall customer outcomes.
Requirements
- 10+ years of leadership experience in K-12 education, education technology, customer success, professional services, strategic partnerships, or a related field.
- Demonstrated success developing, managing, and scaling strategic partnerships with measurable customer or business impact.
- Deep understanding of the U.S. K-12 education landscape and its stakeholders.
- Experience working with educational service agencies, regional education organizations, state departments of education, school districts, or comparable institutions.
- Strong executive presence with exceptional relationship-building, communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proven ability to lead complex cross-functional initiatives and drive alignment without direct authority.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Experience with BOCES, Intermediate Units, ESCs, AEAs, RESAs, ISDs, COEs, educational cooperatives, or similar organizations is strongly preferred.
- Experience in SaaS customer success, implementation services, support, channel partnerships, or partner enablement is advantageous.
- Familiarity with K-12 technology solutions such as student information systems, ERP, special programs, HR, talent management, analytics, or related platforms is a plus.
- Experience designing partner certification, training, or enablement programs is preferred.
- Strong strategic and commercial acumen, combined with a customer-first mindset and the ability to translate relationships into measurable outcomes.
- Collaborative, adaptable, and results-oriented leadership style with the ability to operate effectively in a complex, matrixed environment.
- Willingness to travel approximately 15–20% for partner meetings, customer engagements, training, team summits, company events, and other key business activities, with increased travel during peak periods when required.
