About the company

- Team includes original authors of Firecracker and alumni of Cognition, JetBrains, Zapier, Wish
Responsibilities
- Own the services behind billing end-to-end: usage metering, charge calculation, invoicing, payments, data models
- Own the Stripe integration end-to-end: subscriptions, Billing Meters, enterprise invoicing edge cases
- Build billing automation: failed-payment recovery, collections, proration, plan changes, credits, refunds, disputes
- Work with engineers across Core, Platform, Dashboard to get billing data and define contracts
- Partner with finance on reconciliation, revenue reporting, audit-readiness
- Make architectural decisions around observability, testing, security
Requirements
- Understanding of metric collection, metered usage, pay-as-you-go, billing cycles
- Backend engineer with 5+ years billing systems experience, deep expertise in Go
- Strong API design: REST/RPC, contracts, versioning
- Solid PostgreSQL: schema design, query optimization, migrations, data at scale
- Backend fundamentals: auth, server-side performance, real-time data flows (WebSockets, SSE)
- Experience with charging logic, collections, billing automation
- Comfortable with complex invoicing, SKUs, usage-/contract-based billing, third-party payment platforms
- Strong cross-functional communication, especially with finance
- Comfortable owning a system end-to-end with high autonomy
