About the company

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Production Graphic Designer – Signage & Print based in Canada.

This role offers an opportunity to create professional artwork that moves beyond digital screens and into real-world production.

Responsibilities
  • Create, modify, clean up, and recreate professional artwork using Adobe Illustrator and/or CorelDRAW.
  • Develop production-ready vector graphics for signage, apparel, promotional products, storefront graphics, and other print applications.
  • Review incoming design and quote requests, accurately interpret customer requirements, and develop initial concepts and proofs.
  • Revise artwork based on customer or stakeholder feedback and prepare finalized files for production following approval.
  • Verify dimensions, resolution, file formats, scaling, and other technical requirements before artwork enters production.
  • Convert unsuitable or low-quality customer files into usable production artwork, including recreating raster artwork as vector graphics when required.
  • Maintain organized working files and final production assets while following established naming, storage, and approval procedures.
  • Prioritize projects according to deadlines and maintain efficient turnaround times for standard and urgent requests.
  • Communicate clearly with stakeholders about design requirements, questions, revisions, and potential production issues.
  • Learn and consistently follow established production standards, workflows, design preferences, and customer expectations.
  • Take increasing ownership of incoming design requests as familiarity with processes and requirements grows.
  • Contribute to efficient workflows by completing revisions accurately, minimizing unnecessary back-and-forth, and maintaining high-quality output.
Requirements
  • Professional graphic design experience with strong fundamentals beyond template-based or social media-focused design.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and/or CorelDRAW, with strong practical knowledge of vector artwork.
  • Solid understanding of print and production requirements, including raster versus vector graphics, resolution, scaling, dimensions, and file preparation.
  • Experience preparing print-ready or production-ready artwork is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with signage, large-format printing, apparel, promotional products, print shops, storefront graphics, or related production design is highly desirable.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and other vector or print-production tools.
  • Familiarity with Loom and Canva; Canva is considered a secondary tool rather than a core requirement.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills, with the ability to understand instructions and communicate questions clearly.
  • A professional portfolio demonstrating relevant graphic design and production work.
  • Formal education in graphic design is preferred, although practical production experience and demonstrated technical ability are more important.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Ability to interpret requirements independently, ask thoughtful questions when information is unclear, and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Comfortable receiving direct feedback, making revisions quickly, and continuously learning new production processes.
  • Reliable, organized, adaptable, and capable of taking ownership of a consistent flow of incoming design requests.
  • Willingness to complete industry-specific training and apply newly learned production standards and workflows.
Conditions
  • Competitive contractor rates based on the scope and requirements of the engagement.
  • Weekly payments according to the applicable independent contractor agreement.
  • Part-time schedule of approximately 20 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
  • Flexible working hours designed around EST business hours, subject to client requirements and agreed availability.
  • Free training and upskilling opportunities, including industry-specific production workflow training.
  • Ongoing support, guidance, and access to a community of fellow contractors.
  • Opportunity to work with international clients and gain experience supporting professional design and production operations.
  • Flexible engagement structure governed by a Master Services Agreement and Statement of Work.
  • Multiple opportunities may be available across different client projects and requirements.
