Our partner is looking for an AI Solutions Architect based in Canada. This is a senior technical leadership role focused on shaping how AI is architected, deployed, and scaled across a diverse portfolio of software businesses.
Responsibilities
- Define and maintain AI reference architecture, architectural principles, technical standards, and reusable solution patterns that align with existing software platforms and technology strategies.
- Evaluate enterprise AI platforms and technologies, recommend appropriate solutions, and develop reference implementations using leading AI tools.
- Establish engineering standards across the AI technology stack, including model evaluation, testing and validation, observability, performance monitoring, and version management.
- Embed AI coding agents, automated code review, and testing automation into software development workflows in accordance with AI-first engineering practices.
- Partner with AI teams and business stakeholders to translate business problems into practical, scalable, and commercially viable solution architectures.
- Guide product experts and engineering teams through solution discovery, delivery, and implementation.
- Integrate security, privacy, auditability, governance, and Responsible AI principles into AI solutions to support regulatory and customer requirements.
- Mentor engineering teams, AI specialists, and technical champions through workshops, architecture reviews, and ongoing technical coaching.
- Develop reusable AI Center of Excellence assets, including prompt libraries, reference architectures, templates, frameworks, and playbooks.
- Assess emerging AI technologies, lead proof-of-concept initiatives, and contribute to the AI technology roadmap and investment priorities.
- Balance innovation with architectural discipline and operational stability, escalating significant conflicts between technical standards and commercial delivery priorities when required.
- Establish and promote reusable AI components across multiple businesses to reduce duplicated development and accelerate adoption.
- Deliver measurable first-year outcomes, including adoption of the AI reference architecture and production piloting of a documented RAG or agentic AI pattern within the first 90 days.
Requirements
- Senior-level experience in enterprise software architecture, solution architecture, software engineering, cloud platform leadership, or a related technical discipline.
- Hands-on experience designing and delivering AI, machine learning, generative AI, or intelligent automation solutions.
- Proven experience integrating AI into enterprise or SaaS products and designing cloud-native, API-first architectures.
- Strong expertise in Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), agentic AI, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), AI orchestration frameworks, prompt engineering, model evaluation, AI observability, AI security, and vector databases.
- Experience establishing reusable technical frameworks, architecture standards, governance practices, and enterprise integration patterns.
- Experience embedding AI coding agents, automated testing, and automated code-review capabilities into engineering workflows.
- Strong technical leadership, mentoring, systems-thinking, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences.
- Sound judgment and a pragmatic approach to balancing emerging technology opportunities with reliability, maintainability, security, and commercial delivery.
- Excellent collaboration skills and the ability to influence architectural decisions across multiple independent teams or business units.
- Curiosity about emerging AI technologies, a commitment to continuous learning, attention to detail, resilience under pressure, and a strong commitment to Responsible AI.
- Experience with Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud is an asset.
- Familiarity with the Microsoft Copilot ecosystem and OpenAI or Anthropic APIs is desirable.
- Experience with Semantic Kernel, LangChain, AutoGen, Model Context Protocol (MCP), or comparable AI orchestration technologies is highly regarded.
