Responsibilities
- Partner closely with Product Management, Engineering Directors, and Principal Architects to translate strategic business objectives into technical roadmaps
- Drive cross-functional collaboration with Product, Design, and QA
- Lead the design and implementation of new features and services from conception to deployment
- Mentor Staff and Senior engineers, guide technical design reviews, and raise the engineering bar
- Raise the technical bar through rigorous code standards, comprehensive automated testing, and modernized CI/CD pipelines
- Create and maintain high-quality technical documentation
- Leverage AI-native engineering practices and AI coding assistants
Requirements
- 7+ years of progressive software development experience
- Proven track record of designing and building macOS (or iOS) features using Swift
- Deep expertise with macOS (or iOS) software environments, including design and performance optimization, security considerations
- Proven expertise in advanced debugging and performance optimization using Xcode, LLDB, and Instruments
- Experience in fast-paced agile environments with strong understanding of CI/CD and automated testing
- Proficiency in leveraging AI coding assistants (e.g., Claude code, GitHub Copilot)
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
Nice-to-haves
- Security Domain Expertise: Cryptography, endpoint security concepts (Secure Enclave, MDM protocols, endpoint detection)
- Understanding of Identity and Access Management protocols (FIDO, OIDC/OAuth)
- Knowledge of cybersecurity principles, secure coding practices, certifications like CISSP or Security+
Conditions
- Annual base salary range for San Francisco Bay area: $194,000 - $267,000 USD
