Responsibilities
- Provide end-to-end legal support for Okta's Public Sector teams, focusing on Regulated Products and Services.
- Act as the subject matter expert on emerging cloud service policies, educating internal teams on shifting regulations.
- Partner with cross-functional legal counsel to ensure our products meet rigorous U.S. and international regulatory standards.
- Embed with Product, Engineering, Compliance, and Security teams to navigate compliance frameworks and authorizations processes (e.g., FedRAMP) from conception to launch.
Requirements
- 5–7+ years of legal practice, with at least 2+ years of direct experience counseling cloud/SaaS providers on U.S. Federal Government compliance, including FAR, DFARS, and FedRAMP authorizations.
- Military Judge Advocate and U.S. Federal Civilian service attorney advisor experience is a plus.
- Experience with classified product delivery or FedRAMP High and DoD IL5/6 authorizations.
- Proven track record supporting IT products and SaaS business models.
- Working knowledge of U.S. Federal, state, and local regulations impacting tech.
- J.D. from a highly-regarded institution and active Bar admission. An undergraduate degree in a technical field is a significant plus.
- A "roll up your sleeves" mentality; comfortable independently navigating issues "of first impression."
- Ability to maintain high standards and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- U.S. Citizenship and must hold a Top Secret security clearance.
Conditions
- Annual base salary range: $180,000 - $248,000 USD.
