Responsibilities
- Be part of a team working collaboratively with Product Managers and other engineers designing, building and maintaining high performance, flexible and highly scalable microservices.
- Use cutting-edge technologies and best practices to optimize for performance and usability, ultimately enhancing the overall restaurant management experience.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams across Toast.
- Advocate best coding practices to raise the bar for you, your team and the company.
- Leverage cutting edge AI tools to enhance your development workflow, improve velocity, and help pioneer new approaches to building - contributing to a culture of innovation and productivity across the team.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in designing and implementing robust backend services using Kotlin and/or Java.
- Demonstrated experience with microservices architecture and containerization technologies for enhanced scalability and maintainability.
- Understanding of backend architecture patterns, including microservices, monolithic, and event-driven architectures.
- Experience developing scalable, secure, and performant backend systems.
- Understanding of testing principles, including unit testing, integration testing, and end-to-end testing.
- Nice to have: Experience with Payment systems, AWS DynamoDB and PostgreSQL, familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or Google Cloud Platform.
Conditions
- Remote, US or Boston, MA.
- Base salary range: $104,000 - $213,000 USD per year depending on location zone.
- Total rewards include cash compensation, equity, and benefits.
