About the company

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Director, Enterprise Information Governance & Management based in United States.

Responsibilities
  • Establish and advance the enterprise information management and data governance framework, including policies, standards, roles, responsibilities, operating models, and governance processes.
  • Lead strategic initiatives across enterprise data governance, metadata management, master data management, data quality, stewardship, and information lifecycle management.
  • Develop long-term roadmaps and strategic priorities in partnership with senior data architecture leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Establish enterprise standards for data ownership, stewardship, quality, security, consistency, and lifecycle management across institutional data domains.
  • Drive implementation and adoption of governance practices across distributed stakeholders, including data trustees, data stewards, data custodians, subject matter experts, and governance groups.
  • Partner with service leads and cross-functional teams to align priorities, optimize resources, and deliver effective enterprise data management services.
  • Support data retention and disposal initiatives by promoting consistent execution, governance, and compliance across the organization.
  • Lead data literacy and enterprise information management training programs, developing role-based education, guidance, and enablement resources.
  • Translate complex data governance and technical concepts into practical recommendations and communications for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Lead transformational change initiatives that strengthen data governance maturity and improve the responsible, consistent, and secure use of enterprise information.
  • Monitor competing priorities, identify opportunities for improvement, and independently advance strategic data initiatives aligned with organizational goals.
  • Provide thought leadership on data structures, systems, technologies, policies, governance practices, and emerging approaches to enterprise information management.
Requirements
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Systems Management, Public Policy, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in data management, business intelligence, data warehousing, or directly supporting data governance in a complex organizational environment.
  • 10+ years of experience supporting data management activities across complex business processes and distributed stakeholder groups is preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience working with Collibra data governance software is preferred.
  • Experience with enterprise reporting platforms such as Tableau or OBIEE, or experience working with major ERP platforms such as PeopleSoft or Workday.
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise data governance principles, data management practices, data quality, metadata management, data lifecycle management, and enterprise information systems.
  • Experience developing strategic plans and roadmaps involving cloud-based solutions, data warehouses, relational databases, and modern data platforms such as Snowflake.
  • Strong SQL skills, including the ability to read, understand, and write SQL queries.
  • Strong background in data analytics and an understanding of enterprise data structures, systems, software, and management practices.
  • Demonstrated experience leading transformational change programs and driving adoption of new governance processes across complex organizations.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain sophisticated technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders and senior leaders.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence diverse business and functional groups toward shared outcomes.
  • Proven ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams, manage competing priorities, and operate effectively within a complex organizational environment.
  • Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and advance strategic initiatives with limited direction.
  • Experience supervising, evaluating, or developing training and workforce enablement programs is preferred.
Conditions
  • Annual base salary range of $170,000–$190,000 USD, with offers determined based on factors including experience, education, skills, responsibilities, internal equity, and market considerations.
