About the company
Our partner is looking for a Sr. Director, Enterprise Applications based in Canada. This is a senior technology leadership role responsible for shaping and executing the strategy behind a complex enterprise applications ecosystem.
Responsibilities
- Own the enterprise applications strategy and roadmap, defining a multi-year vision across Salesforce, NetSuite, Coupa, HR/HCM platforms, and connected business systems based on evolving business priorities.
- Lead the quote-to-cash transformation, modernizing processes from opportunity and quoting through order management, billing, and revenue recognition while improving speed, accuracy, and scalability.
- Own critical business processes, including quote-to-cash, procure-to-pay, record-to-report, and hire-to-retire, establishing measurable outcomes and continuous improvement priorities.
- Lead hands-on delivery and execution of implementations, enhancements, integrations, and business system initiatives, making prioritization and trade-off decisions as product owner for core platforms.
- Drive integration and data quality, ensuring reliable data flows across systems of record and strengthening the accuracy and consistency of business reporting.
- Identify opportunities for automation and simplification, including the responsible adoption of AI-enabled tools where they can reduce manual work and improve business processes.
- Establish application architecture and governance standards, covering security, DevOps maturity, technical quality, release governance, incident management, and platform health.
- Introduce rigorous performance management, defining metrics, dashboards, roadmaps, OKRs, and operating practices that connect technology delivery to measurable business outcomes.
- Build and lead the enterprise applications organization, including hiring, organizational design, coaching, performance management, career development, and succession planning across technical and functional roles.
- Develop technical and delivery talent, creating clear roles, career paths, and leadership capabilities across architects, developers, administrators, and business analysts.
- Partner with executive stakeholders across Finance, Sales, Revenue Operations, HR, and Operations to translate business priorities into scalable application solutions.
- Manage strategic vendors and technology spend, including platform budgets, software licensing, RFP/RFI processes, contract negotiations, systems integrator relationships, and total cost of ownership.
- Own key technology partnerships, managing relationships with major platform providers, influencing product roadmaps, navigating contract cycles, and resolving escalated issues.
- Support technology consolidation and standardization in a multi-entity, acquisition-driven environment while balancing growth, integration, consistency, and operational efficiency.
Requirements
- 12+ years of experience in enterprise technology, enterprise applications, business systems, or a closely related field, including 5+ years leading application platform teams at Director level or above.
- Extensive Salesforce leadership experience, including demonstrated success scaling Salesforce environments in high-growth organizations and hands-on experience with CPQ and Billing in production.
- Proven experience leading end-to-end quote-to-cash transformations, from opportunity and quoting through billing and revenue recognition.
- Broad enterprise applications expertise beyond Salesforce, ideally including NetSuite, Coupa, and HR/HCM platforms such as Workday.
- Hands-on delivery experience, with a track record of leading implementations, integrations, enhancements, and system improvements rather than managing exclusively from a strategic distance.
- Strong technical understanding of integrations and data architecture, including APIs, event-driven patterns, cloud data flows, and environments such as Azure or AWS.
- Experience with automation and emerging technologies, with exposure to AI-enabled business tools and the judgment to apply appropriate governance and human oversight.
- Proven people leadership experience, including building and managing teams of architects, developers, administrators, analysts, and managers.
- Experience managing significant technology budgets and vendors, including multi-million-dollar platform investments, software licensing, RFP/RFI processes, contract negotiations, and systems integrators.
- Experience in multi-entity or post-acquisition environments, with the ability to consolidate systems, standardize processes, and create scalable enterprise architectures.
- Experience in private equity-backed or high-growth organizations is highly relevant, particularly where technology must support rapid growth while improving operational efficiency.
- Exceptional executive communication skills.
