About the company
- AI-driven e-commerce messaging platform, hiring on behalf of a partner company
- Fully remote role based in the United States
Responsibilities
- Build foundational services, APIs, and data pipelines powering an AI-driven e-commerce messaging platform
- Take deep ownership of key systems and product areas, becoming the technical expert and primary point of reference
- Independently investigate, design, and deliver solutions across complex distributed systems
- Architect, build, and maintain highly available and scalable REST APIs and backend services
- Drive system decoupling, modularization, and technical debt reduction
- Use agentic development workflows with autonomous and concurrent AI coding agents
- Stay current with emerging AI models, coding tools, and agentic workflows
- Collaborate with Product, Data, and go-to-market teams in an async-first environment
- Identify and eliminate single points of failure and improve system resilience
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience building large-scale, data-intensive backend systems and APIs
- Daily use of AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Copilot
- Strong experience with Python, Go, Rust, React, and TypeScript
- Working knowledge of event-driven distributed systems, Kafka, Flink or Spark
- Experience scaling production systems to multi-terabyte scale
- Strong AWS experience and familiarity with relational databases, OLAP, and NoSQL
- Strong relational data modeling, database indexing, and performant SQL skills
- Experience with infrastructure as code such as Terraform
- Familiarity with AWS and Kubernetes deployment and observability (Datadog, SigNoz)
Conditions
- Base salary of USD $175,000–$205,000, with no geographic salary adjustments
