About the company

Our partner is looking for a Technical Program Manager - AWS Cloud Infrastructure based in Canada. This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps.

Responsibilities
  • Own end-to-end delivery of a portfolio of concurrent AWS cloud infrastructure programs, managing scope, schedules, dependencies, budgets, and critical paths across engineering and partner teams.
  • Coordinate cloud cost-optimization initiatives, tracking progress, reporting results, identifying risks, and proactively addressing obstacles to savings targets.
  • Lead intake and prioritization processes, maintaining accurate roadmaps, priority documentation, dashboards, and program status information.
  • Act as the central coordination point across technical and business teams, facilitating alignment, trade-off discussions, negotiations, and resolution of roadblocks.
  • Partner closely with software engineers, engineering managers, and SREs to align execution with strategic objectives and support planning activities.
  • Drive security and governance initiatives end-to-end, ensuring dependencies are managed and delivery remains on track.
  • Develop reports, scorecards, and executive-ready dashboards that provide clear visibility into progress, risks, dependencies, and outcomes.
  • Build strong relationships across functional boundaries while promoting pragmatic problem-solving, accountability, and effective collaboration.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage AI, automation, and emerging technologies to improve program management processes and enable business innovation.
Requirements
  • 6+ years of experience in technical program or project management, ideally delivering complex, cross-team initiatives within cloud infrastructure or platform environments.
  • Strong AWS expertise and a solid understanding of cloud-based solutions, infrastructure environments, and technology delivery.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple programs simultaneously from initiation through completion, with ownership of scope, schedule, budget, dependencies, and risk.
  • Experience collaborating directly with software engineers, engineering managers, SREs, and other technical stakeholders to deliver outcomes aligned with a defined strategy.
  • Strong critical-path and dependency management skills, including the ability to create complex delivery plans and proactively mitigate risks.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present technical and program information clearly to audiences ranging from engineering teams to executive leadership.
  • Strong technical intuition and the ability to understand engineering challenges well enough to facilitate effective decisions and coordination.
  • Experience with cloud platform, SaaS, cost-optimization, or operational-efficiency initiatives is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with security and governance programs such as IAM, certification, logging, access elevation, and compliance frameworks such as SOX is a plus.
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence, ServiceNow, provisioning, landing-zone initiatives, or cloud governance is desirable.
  • Knowledge of product management principles, AI technologies, and AI-enabled tools that can support program management and operational efficiency is a plus.
Conditions
  • Salary: CAD $111,000–$167,000 annual base salary, depending on skills, experience, and geographic location.
  • Annual bonus: Potential eligibility for a discretionary cash bonus of up to 15% of base salary, based on individual and company performance.
  • Remote work: Fully remote position for candidates based in British Columbia or Ontario, with occasional travel for team events, meetings, partnerships, or territory activities.
  • Healthcare: Health, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Insurance: Life insurance and critical illness/AD&D coverage.
  • Financial benefits: Health Care Spending Account, retirement savings programs, and potential eligibility for an equity plan.
  • Time off: Paid vacation, holidays, sick time, personal time, wellness days, and paid parental leave.
  • Employee support: Employee Assistance Program and additional wellbeing resources.
  • Career development: Opportunities for professional growth and learning within a large, technology-driven organization.
  • Work flexibility: Support for remote work and flexibility to accommodate occasional business needs outside standard working hours.
