Project Manager

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Director, DOE Project Manager based in United States.

• Serve as the primary point of contact for Department of Energy clients, including Contracting Officer's Representatives and program staff, across a portfolio of task orders.
• Manage project schedules, budgets, technical scope, and priorities across multiple concurrent architecture and engineering engagements.
• Review project requirements, identify missing or conflicting information, and coordinate clarification with clients and technical stakeholders.
• Direct and coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams and partners to ensure design deliverables meet agreed quality, schedule, and budget requirements.
• Track project deliverables throughout the design lifecycle, including 15%, 50%, 95%, and 100% submissions, while coordinating reviews, comments, RFIs, and responses.
• Oversee subcontractor administration, including invoicing coordination, progress reporting, deliverable tracking, and performance follow-up.
• Plan and facilitate project meetings, maintain meeting minutes and action-item logs, and ensure timely completion of follow-up activities.
• Identify scope, schedule, technical, and budget risks early, communicate them to leadership, and recommend practical mitigation strategies.
• Review engineering drawings, calculations, recommendations, and other technical deliverables to assess quality and provide appropriate project-level direction.
• Support project closeout by ensuring required deliverables, documentation, and administrative activities are completed accurately and on time.
• Maintain strong, professional relationships with federal clients, engineering partners, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.
• Represent the organization effectively in client and partner engagements and travel periodically for site visits and meetings as required.

• U.S. citizenship is required due to security clearance requirements and access to Department of Energy facilities.
• Bachelor's degree required, preferably in engineering, construction management, business, or a related discipline. An engineering degree or professional engineering license is not required.
• At least 7 years of project management experience, including direct oversight of multidisciplinary engineering teams or complex engineering projects.
• Demonstrated experience managing multidisciplinary engineering or architecture and engineering design projects from requirements through completion.
• Sufficient technical and engineering knowledge to review drawings, calculations, recommendations, and engineering-led deliverables and provide informed technical direction without acting as the engineer of record.
• Experience working with federal task order contracts, including IDIQ or A&E design services; Department of Energy or Department of Defense experience is preferred.
• Strong understanding of project scheduling, budgeting, scope management, risk management, deliverable tracking, and subcontractor coordination.
• Project management certification such as PMP, CAPM, or an equivalent credential is preferred.
• Excellent client-facing communication skills, with the ability to serve confidently as the primary interface with federal stakeholders.
• Strong organizational skills and sound judgment, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines, priorities, and complex workstreams simultaneously.
• Ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary, cross-company, and highly dynamic teams.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving project risks.
• Technical certification or professional license such as PE or CEM is a plus but not required.
• Willingness to travel periodically for client meetings and project site visits.

• Target annual salary of $115,000–$130,000, with final compensation based on experience and qualifications.
