About the company

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Director, Human Resources Business Partner, Global Commercial based in United States.

This senior HR leadership role will serve as a trusted strategic partner to Global Medical Affairs and Commercial Development leaders.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and strategic thought partner to senior business leaders, aligning workforce planning, organizational priorities, and people strategies with evolving business needs.
  • Lead organizational effectiveness initiatives, including organizational design, workforce planning, leadership development, talent planning, and capability building.
  • Coach leaders through growth, transformation, and organizational change, developing strategies that strengthen readiness, adoption, alignment, and employee engagement.
  • Assess organizational structures, leadership capabilities, team effectiveness, and ways of working to identify opportunities for sustainable improvement.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition to develop recruitment strategies and strengthen talent pipelines aligned with business growth plans.
  • Collaborate with Total Rewards, People Operations, HR Technology, Culture, Employee Engagement, and Learning teams to implement scalable programs and ensure strong adoption.
  • Work closely with fellow HRBPs to align functional initiatives, share best practices, and develop consistent processes that improve organizational effectiveness.
  • Champion effective communication, culture, and employee engagement initiatives that support a growing global commercial organization.
  • Provide guidance on employee relations and investigations while ensuring alignment with internal policies and applicable local and regional employment legislation.
  • Lead cross-functional HR projects and program implementations, establishing clear milestones, timelines, ownership, and measures of success.
  • Use organizational data, analytics, and business insights to diagnose workforce challenges, inform decisions, and demonstrate the impact of HR initiatives.
  • Promote continuous improvement and innovative approaches to HR practices, processes, and organizational development.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline, combined with 17+ years of progressive HR business partner experience.
  • Strong biotech or pharmaceutical business acumen, with the ability to connect business strategy with organizational effectiveness, capabilities, talent, and functional interdependencies.
  • Proven experience operating as a strategic HRBP and aligning culture, organizational development, and people strategies with business objectives.
  • Experience partnering with senior executives and leaders across functions, with exceptional listening, influencing, communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate high-growth and rapidly changing environments where accountability, urgency, flexibility, responsiveness, and change agility are valued.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, including experience managing complex initiatives, programs, timelines, and implementation milestones.
  • Strong analytical capabilities, including advanced use of data and Excel to diagnose organizational issues and inform practical, evidence-based decisions.
  • Strong knowledge of HR compliance, employment legislation, and leading HR practices.
  • Sound judgment, strategic thinking, discretion, and the ability to make thoughtful decisions in complex organizational situations.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement, innovation, and finding scalable solutions to evolving business needs.
  • Experience building HR processes and operating models that improve cross-functional effectiveness is preferred.
  • Experience working within a similarly sized, rapidly growing biotech organization and supporting commercialization or a first product launch is preferred.
  • Experience working in matrixed and global environments is preferred.
Conditions
  • Base salary range of $232,000–$290,000 USD, with final compensation determined by factors such as experience, skills, education, location, and market conditions.
