Responsibilities
- Set the testing strategy and quality bar for the Calm app and internal tools
- Architect and build automated test frameworks and suites (UI, API, mobile, integration) in CI/CD pipelines
- Review requirements, specs, and pull requests early to catch issues in-sprint
- Partner with product and design (~30% of time) on acceptance criteria and release timelines
- Manage and direct the offshore QA team, shifting toward automation
- Triage and document defects and drive them to resolution
- Track quality metrics: coverage, flakiness, escaped defects, release stability
- Use AI-assisted tooling to speed up test creation and maintenance
- Contribute to feature development in Android, iOS, backend, or web
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience as a software engineer, SDET, or QA automation engineer
- Strong programming skills in Java and JavaScript/TypeScript
- Hands-on experience building test automation frameworks and integrating into CI/CD
- Experience testing mobile apps (iOS and/or Android)
- Experience leading QA efforts and owning release readiness
- Comfortable using AI-assisted tools
Conditions
- Base pay range: $111,400 - $181,500
