This is an opportunity to shape the architecture of complex, business-critical software solutions in a fully remote environment.
Responsibilities
- Define, evolve, and document software architectures for enterprise solutions, ensuring scalability, resilience, security, high availability, and maintainability.
- Translate functional and non-functional business requirements into robust technical solutions and clearly communicate architectural decisions and trade-offs.
- Design and review microservices, APIs, messaging systems, events, service integrations, and synchronous and asynchronous communication flows.
- Establish architectural standards and patterns that balance simplicity, flexibility, performance, reliability, and long-term maintenance.
- Define strategies for scalability, fault tolerance, disaster recovery, authentication, authorization, encryption, observability, and system availability.
- Support development teams throughout implementation, providing technical guidance on complex scenarios and ensuring architectural principles are consistently applied.
- Contribute hands-on with C# and .NET when required, helping validate architectural decisions through practical implementation.
- Promote engineering best practices including SOLID, Clean Code, Design Patterns, automated testing, and effective code review practices.
- Define and review technical components, layers, contracts, integration flows, and system boundaries.
- Evaluate technical risks, compare alternative architectural approaches, and recommend pragmatic solutions aligned with business priorities.
- Produce technical documentation, architecture diagrams, decision records, and evolution plans to support clear and sustainable engineering practices.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, security, infrastructure, and other technical stakeholders to ensure architecture aligns with broader organizational needs.
- Support quality through automated unit and integration testing, architectural reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Solid professional experience as a Software Architect, Solutions Architect, Tech Lead, or in an equivalent senior technical role.
- Strong and recent hands-on development experience with C# and .NET, together with deep knowledge of the .NET ecosystem.
- Proven experience designing software architectures and distributed systems, particularly microservices-based solutions.
- Strong knowledge of APIs, integration patterns, messaging, queues, events, and asynchronous communication.
- Advanced understanding of SOLID principles, Clean Code, Design Patterns, and software engineering best practices.
- Experience with automated unit and integration testing and a strong commitment to technical quality.
- Knowledge of horizontal scalability, load balancing, caching, resilience patterns, fault tolerance, and high-availability strategies.
- Knowledge of application security principles, including authentication, authorization, encryption, and secure system design.
- Practical experience with Git, Docker, Docker Compose, CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Ability to document complex solutions clearly and explain the reasoning behind architectural and technical decisions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate competing architectural approaches and make sound technical recommendations.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a systems-level perspective and the ability to influence technical decisions across teams.
- Comfortable balancing strategic architecture with hands-on implementation and execution.
- Availability to complete a technical challenge involving architecture and C#/.NET implementation.
- Experience with cloud platforms, Kubernetes, Domain-Driven Design (DDD), event-driven architecture, and observability is considered an advantage.
