Mercury is a fintech company. The Cards Integration team owns the entire Mercury card: issuance, physical card shipping, spend controls, lifecycle management, authorization, money movement, settlement and reporting.
Responsibilities
- Lead projects from idea to tech spec to implementation to launch
- Learn how debit and credit cards work under the hood (authorization, clearing, settlement, disputes)
- Build features across the stack, from card experiences to backend money movement systems
- Maintain excellent observability and operations
- Mentor other engineers through design reviews and code reviews
- Work with product, design, operations, risk, compliance, sales
Requirements
- Strong full-stack experience and product mindset
- Experience making architectural decisions on complex systems
- Care about correctness in systems with financial consequences
- Clear communication and comfort with ambiguity
- Comfortable with Haskell and TypeScript or ready to learn
- Bonus: experience in fintech, payments, or card issuing
Conditions
- US base salary: $166,600 - $208,300 USD
- Canadian base salary: $157,400 - $196,800 USD
