Responsibilities
- High participation in set up and implementation of accounting guidelines for new products.
- Develop manuals of accounting policy and procedures.
- Interaction with several departments (IT, Operations, Middle Office, Front Office, HR, AP, Products, etc.).
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date general accounting records.
- Support compliance with the "Disposiciones de Carácter General aplicables a Instituciones de Banca Múltiple / Circular Única de Bancos" and other regulatory requirements.
- Assist in monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.
- Understand accounting processes related to general expenses, provisions, taxes, reserves, loan portfolios, and treasury operations.
- Oversee account reconciliations, integrations, and preparation of information for internal and external audits.
- Collaborate with Treasury, Risk, Compliance, and Audit teams.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives related to automation, internal controls, and reporting efficiency.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in public accounting or Banking and Finance (mandatory).
- 3 years of experience in banking or regulatory accounting within banks.
- Deep knowledge of NIFs and CNBV Accounting criteria for Commercial Banks.
- Intermediate Excel skills and familiarity with financial analysis tools.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
- Intermediate–advanced English; conversational Spanish.
Nice to have
- Experience supporting audits (internal or external).
- Familiarity with loan portfolio and treasury accounting.
- Interest in automation, digital tools, or accounting process optimization.
- Curiosity about regulatory frameworks and banking operations.
