As a Software Systems Engineer, you will provide specialized technical expertise across multiple systems and software disciplines, supporting reliable and efficient IT operations in a government-focused IT environment.
Responsibilities
- Support the full lifecycle of systems software, from technical analysis and development to integration, troubleshooting, and operational support
- Perform in-depth analysis and technical support for systems software products
- Assist with planning and implementing the introduction or conversion of new hardware and software products
- Maintain, debug, and configure software products
- Plan and evaluate operating systems, including performance analysis, capacity planning, and hardware upgrade requirements
- Develop or modify operating system applications based on technical specifications
- Contribute to software design, coding, benchmark testing, debugging, and program documentation
- Collaborate with system support teams to resolve technical issues
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation
Requirements
- At least 8 years of relevant professional experience in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, IT, or related field
- Active IT-II security clearance or current NACLC
- U.S. citizenship and ability to meet federal background screening requirements
- Strong technical knowledge across systems and software disciplines
- Experience with software configuration, debugging, and maintenance
- Knowledge of software design, coding, benchmark testing, debugging, and technical documentation
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal direction
