Responsibilities
Lead, recruit, mentor and develop systems administration, lab operations and technical services teams
Own reliability, efficiency, safety and continuous improvement of engineering labs, HPC systems and infrastructure facilities
Establish service levels, operating standards, escalation paths, monitoring, observability and automation
Translate engineering requirements into infrastructure roadmaps, capacity plans and procurement strategies
Forecast compute, storage, network, rack-space, power and cooling requirements
Lead global infrastructure programs from requirements through deployment and decommissioning
Own infrastructure procurement and supplier performance
Develop and lead operating budgets, capital plans and investment proposals
Build relationships with hardware vendors, colocation providers and integrators
Maintain security, safety and compliance controls (ISO 27001, SOC/SSAE, PCI DSS)
Provide executive reporting on infrastructure health, capacity, risks and budgets
Requirements
Significant leadership experience in global technical infrastructure, HPC or data center services
Proven success leading geographically distributed technical teams
Deep knowledge of HPC and data center environments: server architecture, Linux, accelerators, high-speed interconnects, parallel storage, cluster management, workload scheduling and monitoring
Experience supporting semiconductor development, silicon bring-up or hardware validation
Experience with multi-site infrastructure strategy and capacity plans
Strong procurement and commercial experience
Experience developing global budgets and cost models
Knowledge of rack integration, structured cabling, power, cooling and physical security
Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science or related field
Conditions
Based onsite in Austin with international travel required
