About the company

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Sr. Software Engineer - Engineering Tools based in the United States.

This is an opportunity to join a remote engineering organization focused on building high-quality, scalable technology that supports meaningful customer outcomes.

You’ll specialize in engineering productivity, test automation, performance testing, and internal developer tooling.

A key part of the role is advancing AI-driven and agentic automation initiatives across engineering workflows.

You’ll work within a small, agile team where engineers have broad ownership and contribute across the development lifecycle.

The role combines hands-on technical depth with close collaboration across Engineering, Product Management, Data Science, and Design.

You’ll help strengthen CI/CD reliability, expand automation coverage, and continuously improve how software is built and delivered.

It’s an environment suited to proactive engineers who enjoy solving complex problems and shipping high-quality products.

Responsibilities
  • Drive agentic AI automation initiatives using internal and external tools, vendors, and emerging technologies.
  • Build, maintain, and continuously improve automation frameworks that increase engineering productivity and product quality.
  • Develop and maintain performance testing capabilities to help ensure reliable, scalable applications.
  • Stabilize and improve CI/CD infrastructure, including Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and ArgoCD.
  • Work with a small, agile engineering team to ensure new features and engineering tooling are delivered with strong quality and automation coverage.
  • Partner with Product Management, Data Science, Design, and other technical stakeholders to understand needs and deliver effective engineering solutions.
  • Collaborate with fellow Automation Engineers to evolve testing frameworks, practices, and standards.
  • Contribute broadly across design, product, frontend, backend, quality, and engineering initiatives as needed in a fast-moving environment.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
  • 5+ years of professional software development and/or software automation experience.
  • Hands-on familiarity with agentic AI tools and technologies such as Claude, Codex, Augment, or similar platforms.
  • Strong experience with quality engineering and automation frameworks such as Selenium, Behave, Playwright, or comparable technologies.
  • Experience working with CI/CD technologies and engineering infrastructure, ideally including Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and ArgoCD.
  • Strong understanding of software quality, test automation, performance testing, and engineering productivity practices.
  • Passion for delivering reliable, high-quality software and continuously improving development processes.
  • Highly proactive and self-directed, with the ability to take ownership and operate effectively in a startup-style environment.
  • Comfortable collaborating across disciplines and contributing beyond a narrowly defined engineering specialty.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills, with the ability to thrive in a small and nimble engineering organization.
Conditions
  • Competitive salary: $143,000–$219,000 annual base salary, depending on skills, qualifications, experience, location, and other job-related factors.
  • Additional compensation: Eligibility for discretionary bonuses and restricted stock unit equity.
  • Comprehensive healthcare: Medical, dental, vision, FSA/HSA, life, and disability insurance options.
  • Mental health support: Access to coaching and therapy services for employees.
  • Paid time off: Vacation, sick leave, company holidays, and other paid time-off benefits.
  • Paid parental leave to support employees and their families.
  • 401(k): Retirement savings plan with up to 3% employer matching.
  • Monthly technology allowance to support remote work and productivity.
  • Well-being perks: Community activities, celebrations, surprise swag, and other employee-focused initiatives.
  • Remote work: Fully remote opportunity for candidates based in the United States.
