Owns API gateways and standards, shared platform services, deployment and infrastructure patterns, testing and CI, local developer experience, Control Plane observability
Responsibilities
Lead, coach, and grow a high-performing team: recruit, set expectations, give feedback, manage performance
Own outcomes across the platform surface: API gateways, shared services (event bus, notifications, feature flags, websockets, audit records), deployment patterns, CI/testing, disaster recovery, observability
Treat integrating teams as customers, measure success by their delivery velocity and adoption
Guide architecture, help senior engineers make sound tradeoffs, land cross-cutting migrations and deprecations
Jump into designs and code for complex areas: gateway routing, auth/RBAC, spec-driven code generation, event delivery semantics, multi-region rollout
Build culture of operational excellence: SLOs, reliability, on-call quality, cost-efficiency for k8s-hosted multi-tenant services
