About the company

Responsibilities
  • Bring new frontier models into production quickly for users and engineers
  • Make inference reliable: better error categorization, self-healing retries, cross-provider failover
  • Own observability for the model layer, driving down time to detection and time to fix
  • Build new model-level capabilities and help product teams adopt them
  • Act as connective tissue across Notion's AI teams, unblocking people and ensuring fixes land
Requirements
  • Comfort with a moving frontier: keep up with the model landscape and stay pragmatic
  • AI fluency as a practitioner
  • Production AI systems experience: built and operated systems on top of LLM APIs
  • Understanding of token economics, streaming, tool calling, context limits and their failure modes
  • Measurement before conviction: define what "better" means and use evaluation
  • Cost and performance instincts: treat latency and dollars as product qualities
Conditions
  • Based in San Francisco or New York City
  • Office work Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays (Anchor Days)
  • Estimated base salary range $255,000 – $300,000 per year
