Responsibilities
- Dive deep into data replication debugging, analyzing existing code used by hundreds of customers
- Analyze new features introduced by Oracle in recent releases and develop supporting features
- Contribute to maintenance and improvement of existing connectors
- Be part of moving a high performance client side service to the cloud and operate at scale
- Develop software designs and technical roadmap for the team
Requirements
- 1+ years programming in Java or C languages
- Writes well-structured and performant code
- Able to dive into previously written code and suggest improvements
- Understand and can explain how to build high performance systems
- 1+ years working in a cloud environment using AWS, GCP, Docker/Kubernetes, CircleCI, or similar
- 1+ years of infrastructure as code on Docker/Kubernetes, AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, Google Cloud Deployment Manager, or equivalent
- Able to define project requirements, design software and infrastructure
- Experience breaking down customer requirements into engineering tasks
- Experience working in large distributed teams
Bonus
- Database internals: storage format, compression, encryption, disaster recovery, transaction management, high availability
- Designing and developing file, event, application, or database connectors
- Advanced Java: multi-threading, async programming, GC tuning
- Setting up, maintaining and tuning production Oracle RDBMS
Conditions
- Contract position based out of Toronto office
- Hybrid model: two days in office each week
- Ontario pay range: $88,821 – $106,590 CAD
