About the company

Our partner is looking for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer based in Canada. This is a broad, hands-on infrastructure role supporting a critical technology environment within the automotive software industry.

Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, administer, and maintain IT infrastructure across networks, servers, storage, virtualization, cloud, and datacenter environments.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure, application, hardware, software, and connectivity issues efficiently while minimizing business disruption.
  • Administer VMware vCenter, Windows Server, Linux environments, load balancing, firewalls, VPNs, DNS, and Layer 2/Layer 3 network configurations.
  • Manage hosted datacenter environments in collaboration with external infrastructure providers, ensuring reliable operations and appropriate service levels.
  • Perform system, database, and server patching, environment changes, backups, monitoring, alerting, and SSL certificate deployment across infrastructure and network environments.
  • Support end users with company-issued PCs, laptops, software, phone systems, and related technology, while monitoring and managing ServiceNow and CRM support tickets.
  • Manage onboarding and offboarding activities, including technology provisioning, asset procurement, tracking, and retrieval.
  • Support financial database servers, client workstations, third-party plugins, SMTP and SMS gateways, and other business-critical applications.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify, prioritize, and deliver IT projects and infrastructure initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate technical documentation, procedures, training materials, system information, and operational records.
  • Ensure infrastructure and technology practices align with applicable standards, regulations, security requirements, and internal policies.
  • Participate in scheduled and unscheduled after-hours or on-call support as required.
  • Research emerging technologies and industry trends, identify opportunities for improvement, and contribute to the evolution of the technology environment.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or 5+ years of relevant IT engineering and systems administration experience.
  • Experience designing, administering, and troubleshooting enterprise IT infrastructure, preferably within an automotive or software-focused environment.
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of VMware vCenter, Windows Server, and various Linux distributions.
  • Experience with firewalls, security rules and policies, VPNs, monitoring, DNS management, load balancing, and Layer 2/Layer 3 networking.
  • Familiarity with Dell, Lenovo, and HP PCs, laptops, and server hardware.
  • Experience troubleshooting at the application layer and supporting business-critical databases and third-party integrations.
  • Knowledge of SSL certificate deployment across servers, network equipment, Linux-based load balancers, and other infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with VoIP technologies and enterprise phone systems.
  • Experience with datacenter and cloud administration, backups, monitoring, alerting, patching, and infrastructure changes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with exceptional attention to detail and a practical approach to resolving technical issues.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical specialists and business stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining reliability, organization, and service quality.
  • A curious, self-directed mindset and genuine interest in learning new technologies, understanding business needs, and taking ownership of a broad technology landscape.
