About the company
Toast is driven by building the restaurant platform that helps restaurants adapt, take control, and get back to what they do best: building the businesses they love.
Responsibilities
- Own the launch governance system for a portfolio of complex, cross-functional product launches with competing priorities and multiple stakeholders: define how changes get tiered, sequence work across teams, and set the readiness checkpoints that determine whether a launch is ready to proceed.
- Act as an authoritative source of knowledge across Product, Product Marketing, and downstream enablement teams, and build the cross-functional alignment needed to coordinate teams that haven't previously worked together.
- Proactively identify and resolve risk with senior stakeholders: flag portfolio-level issues like conflicting timelines or launches missing an owner, apply root-cause analysis, and bring data-backed recommendations that gain buy-in from leadership.
- Lead recurring cross-functional syncs and represent the launch portfolio to executive and senior stakeholders, adapting your message for technical and non-technical audiences and championing the value of the work.
- Define success metrics and readiness criteria for the launches you own, track impact and monitor for confusion or support gaps after go-live, and contribute to closing the post-launch feedback loop, connecting what Care and customers experience back to Product.
- Deliver complex launches on time, adapting your approach mid-execution as scope or business needs shift, and present executive-level retrospectives with measurable outcomes and lessons learned.
- Mentor Enablement Project Managers on the team, sharing project management best practices and contributing to how the broader team runs its portfolio of work.
- Drive how the team uses AI and other tools to scale: structure launch information so it can be classified, routed, and summarized efficiently, and codify the criteria for when a launch should be staggered, bundled, accelerated, or paused, so judgment concentrates where it matters most as launch volume grows.
Requirements
- 8+ years experience in Project Management, Product Enablement Operations, or Product Management in a fast-paced, high-growth, and high-output environment, including experience leading complex, cross-functional initiatives with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
- Track record of gaining buy-in from senior stakeholders and leadership on ambiguous, cross-functional business problems, and of championing the value of your work to executive audiences.
- Experience building or improving the systems and processes a team uses to get work done, not just executing within existing ones.
- Experience mentoring or developing other project managers and contributing to how a broader team or function runs its portfolio of work.
- Proven experience using AI and other tools to build more efficient, scalable systems and processes.
- Experience and proficiency with various project management tools (e.g., Asana, Google Suite, Jira).
- Formal project management training or certification (e.g., PMP, CAPM) is a plus.
