About the role

We're looking for a Principal Talent Management Partner to help shape how we support performance, growth, careers, and development across the company. This is a builder role with end-to-end ownership of our Talent Management portfolio, including performance management, talent reviews, succession planning, career development, internal mobility, skills, and future talent initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Own and evolve our talent experience: Lead and continuously evolve Squarespace's Talent Management portfolio across performance, talent reviews, succession, careers, internal mobility, skills, and emerging talent priorities.
- Design connected, scalable experiences that support employee growth, manager effectiveness, and business performance.
- Bring fresh thinking and practical ideas to how we develop talent and prepare for the future of work.
- Shape the future of performance: Evolve performance management toward a continuous experience centered on feedback, coaching, accountability, and development.
- Design experiences that fit naturally into the flow of work and make meaningful feedback part of everyday conversations.
- Create practical frameworks, resources, and tools that help managers lead performance and career conversations with confidence.
- Use workforce insights, employee feedback, and program metrics to proactively identify opportunities, measure impact, and continuously improve the talent experience.
- Lead strategy through execution: Lead complex initiatives from strategy and design through implementation, adoption, and continuous improvement.
- Manage roadmaps, project plans, stakeholder alignment, governance, and delivery across multiple priorities and programs.
- Drive change that is thoughtful, practical, and easy for employees and managers to adopt.
- Partner, communicate, and influence: Serve as a trusted Talent Management partner to People Business Partners, leaders, and cross-functional stakeholders, providing expertise, guidance, and practical recommendations.
- Build strong relationships and influence through expertise, collaboration, thoughtful recommendations, and data-informed insights.
- Develop clear communications, presentations, toolkits, and enablement resources that help employees and managers understand, adopt, and get value from our talent programs.
- Translate complex talent concepts and data into clear, compelling, and actionable insights tailored for different audiences.
- Build with AI & Emerging Technology: Build and experiment with AI tools, workflows, and automations to solve talent problems, simplify processes, and create better experiences for employees and managers.
- Identify where AI can strengthen talent practices - from skills and internal mobility to talent insights and manager enablement and turn promising ideas into practical solutions that can scale.
- Apply sound judgment about where and how to use AI, balancing innovation with quality, privacy, bias, employee experience, and the importance of human judgment.
Requirements
- 10+ years of progressive experience in Talent Management, Talent Development, Organizational Development, or a related People discipline.
- Comfortable operating at both strategic and tactical levels - connecting Talent Management priorities to business objectives, shaping functional strategy and direction, and driving hands-on execution.
- Experienced leading complex, cross-functional programs from concept through implementation and adoption.
- A strong program manager who brings structure, clarity, and momentum to ambiguous and complex problems.
- An effective communicator and facilitator who can influence stakeholders at multiple levels.
- Skilled at building trusted partnerships across functions and is sought out for expertise, sound judgment, and practical recommendations.
- Comfortable using data and insights to identify opportunities, measure impact, and inform decisions.
- Experienced building or experimenting with AI tools, workflows, or automations to solve people or business problems, with strong judgment about where AI can create value and where human judgment matters.
- Proactively identifies opportunities to improve programs, processes, and ways of working with a focus on scalable, sustainable solutions.
- Passionate about creating simple, intuitive talent experiences that help employees grow and managers succeed, balancing strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
Conditions
- Cash Compensation Range: Dublin, Ireland: € 88,500 - € 159,500; New York, NY: $148,000 - $267,500.
- The base salary for this position will vary based on job-related criteria including relevant skills, experience, and location, among other factors.
