Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership and architectural governance: review solution architectures, API designs, integrations, and technical proposals
- Shape technical direction: partner with the Technical Director to guide engineering decisions and evaluate technology options
- Apply travel industry expertise: provide guidance across airline distribution, NDC, GDS, booking, servicing, and travel retailing workflows
- Assess technical risks and dependencies: identify architectural constraints, integration challenges, scalability concerns
- Promote engineering excellence: mentor engineers, share best practices, support knowledge development
- Ensure cloud and operational alignment: guide teams in applying cloud architecture, security, resilience, availability
- Support platform modernization: evaluate existing architectures and support evolution of platforms
- Collaborate across technical and business teams
- Strengthen system scalability and reliability
- Influence without direct authority
Requirements
- Technical leadership experience leading technical reviews and guiding engineering teams
- Travel industry expertise: airline distribution, NDC, GDS, booking, fulfillment, servicing
- Software engineering background: Java, API development, distributed systems, modern software architecture
- Cloud and containerization expertise: AWS, Kubernetes, cloud-native technologies
- API architecture and integration skills

Conditions
