Roblox is a global platform bringing millions of people together through immersive 3D experiences. The Content Platform team powers the infrastructure behind every asset used across the Roblox ecosystem, managing the complete lifecycle of assets at over 100+ million requests per second.
Responsibilities
- Define and drive the long-term strategy, architecture, and priorities for the Content Platform team, ensuring scalable, high-performance asset management.
- Lead engineering teams in building and maintaining robust, large-scale distributed systems to support the creation, upload, storage, indexing, and delivery of all asset types.
- Oversee the operation of Roblox’s largest backend service, handling 100 million+ requests per second, and ensure reliability, scalability, and efficiency at global scale.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners, including product, infrastructure, and developer platform teams, to align engineering initiatives with the needs of creators and the broader Roblox ecosystem.
- Guide ownership of roadmaps, projects, and outcomes, balancing innovation with operational excellence, security, and cost efficiency.
Requirements
- 12+ years of experience building high-impact, consumer-facing applications at scale. BS in Computer Science or related experience is preferred.
- Deep expertise in backend engineering, distributed systems, and large-scale infrastructure, delivering high-performance, reliable platforms in high-traffic production environments.
- Strong experience working with cross-functional teams.

- Product-minded, with a keen understanding of developer needs, asset workflows, and the impact of backend systems on user experience.
- Adaptable and curious, eager to tackle unique technical challenges and drive the future of content platforms at scale.
Conditions
- Annual Salary Range: $399,420 — $457,970 USD.
- Roles that are based in an office are onsite Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with optional presence on Monday and Friday.
