Platform Software Engineer

About the company

• Humanoid builds commercially-scalable and safe humanoid robots; the HMND-01 platform is deployed in real industrial environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop and validate embedded software that ensures robots operate at scale in the real world.
• Integrate robotic components (sensors, actuators, computing platforms) into a fault-tolerant system.
• Lead interdisciplinary projects involving robotic perception, computing subsystems, and software integration.
• Integrate new systems with robots to test, validate, and ensure safety and reliability.
• Contribute to tools, infrastructure, and operational practices within an agile R&D team.
• Work closely with electrical engineers, software developers, robotics control experts, and physical AI developers.

Requirements

• 5+ years developing and deploying production software in embedded systems running Linux (C++, C, Rust, Python, Go).
• Experience developing time-sensitive, performance-critical applications.
• Thorough understanding of Ethernet and IP networking and higher-level protocols like HTTP or gRPC.
• Experience with Linux build environments like Yocto or Buildroot.
• Experience building Linux kernels and modifying or writing device drivers.
• Nice to have: Nvidia Jetson platform, sensor data (cameras, lidars, radars, IMUs).
• Strong communication skills and technical documentation.
• Proven history of leading cross-functional technical projects.
• Experience in small, agile teams with fast iteration cycles.
