Responsibilities
- Define and own the long-term editorial and category strategy across Marketing, executive leadership, Product, People, Legal, and customer-facing functions.
- Establish clear narrative positions, evidence standards, and language to ensure consistency across business areas and communications.
- Develop and manage a multi-year editorial roadmap centered on a focused portfolio of flagship research and thought-leadership initiatives aligned with company strategy.
- Serve as the final quality bar for editorial voice, accuracy, sourcing, evidence, and overall content quality across both human- and AI-generated work.
- Design and govern reusable AI-powered systems for research, brand voice, fact-checking, source verification, content repurposing, evaluation, quality assurance, and reporting.
- Define appropriate governance frameworks that determine where AI can lead, where human oversight is required, and where specialist or executive approval is necessary.
- Establish content mechanisms and standards that can be adopted across Marketing and other relevant teams, extending the impact of the function beyond the core content workflow.
- Measure the effectiveness and leverage of content systems through metrics such as output, cycle time, cost, adoption, quality, and business impact, continuously improving them over time.
- Lead the operating model for executive publishing, advising senior leaders on the arguments, perspectives, and narratives they should bring to market.
- Build an original research program using proprietary employment, salary, hiring, and workforce data to produce authoritative insights that influence external conversations.
- Coordinate newsletters, podcasts, events, PR, analyst relations, product marketing, customer and partner storytelling, and social content around cohesive narratives.
- Connect editorial and narrative decisions to measurable business outcomes, including growth, customer trust, target-account engagement, earned influence, and pipeline.
- Develop reporting and insights that help leadership make informed decisions about content portfolios, investments, and strategic priorities.
- Identify emerging market trends and shifts early, translating them into recommendations for business and content strategy.
- Mobilize senior stakeholders, freelancers, agencies, specialists, and subject-matter experts without relying on formal reporting authority.
- Establish decision rights, operating rhythms, processes, and shared standards that allow multiple teams to execute consistently.
- Shape the long-term organizational roadmap for the content capability, determining what should remain expert-led, become systematized, or require future hiring.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in content, editorial, brand journalism, or a closely related field, including senior ownership of a brand narrative or thought-leadership program within a B2B technology environment.
- Demonstrated success defining a company or category narrative that influenced decisions, earned external authority, and was adopted across multiple teams.
- A strong portfolio of work that has earned attention organically through citations, industry discussion, quotations, debate, sharing, or other forms of external recognition.
- Demonstrated AI-first experience extending well beyond content drafting, including building agents, custom workflows, evaluation systems, quality assurance processes, and governance frameworks.
- Exceptional English-language editorial judgment, with outstanding writing, editing, sourcing, research, and brand-voice capabilities.
- Ability to translate proprietary data, technical subjects, and complex research into clear, compelling, defensible arguments with strong business relevance.
- Proven ability to make high-leverage strategic decisions and establish direction across executives and multiple functions without formal authority.
- Strong experience creating scalable mechanisms, operating standards, processes, and roadmaps that enable others to deliver consistently.
- High autonomy, strong ownership, and comfort operating as an individual contributor with company-wide scope and no direct reports.
- Strong strategic thinking combined with excellent execution, judgment, and attention to detail.
- Ability to challenge vague, poorly sourced, inconsistent, or off-brand work constructively, including when working with senior stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to coordinate complex initiatives across distributed teams.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
