Product Designer

Mercury is a fintech company building products that bring care and craft back to modern finance. Cards and credit are built on complicated systems, and thoughtful design can turn something traditionally transactional into an experience that feels simple and intuitive.

• Own meaningful Cards & Credit product problems from initial framing through shipped experience, partnering closely with Product and Engineering
• Turn complicated systems, requirements, and edge cases into experiences that feel remarkably simple and intuitive
• Work across the entire design stack, from framing problems and exploring concepts to workflows, detailed interactions, visual design, prototyping, and final implementation
• Explore broadly and design from first principles, questioning inherited patterns and assumptions
• Bring a high level of interaction and visual craft to the Cards & Credit experience
• Collaborate with Mercury's Brand team on physical cards and related products
• Develop a deep understanding of customers and communicate the reasoning behind decisions clearly

• A strong portfolio of product work demonstrating exceptional product thinking, interaction design, and visual craft
• Ability to understand complicated systems and turn them into simple, thoughtful product experiences
• Deep curiosity about why a problem exists before deciding how to solve it
• High bar for craft and judgment
• Comfort navigating ambiguity and taking ownership
• Habit of exploring multiple possibilities, prototyping ideas, and changing direction
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• No background in banking, fintech, cards, or credit required

• Total rewards package includes base salary, equity (stock options/RSUs), and benefits
• Target base salary: $189,000 – $236,200 USD (US employees); $178,600 – $223,200 CAD (Canadian employees)
• Remote within Canada or United States
