This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Developer (Freelance) based in United States.
Responsibilities
- Work through prioritized technical debt within an established production web application, improving its reliability, quality, and maintainability.
- Independently investigate, troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve technical issues while escalating or collaborating when additional expertise is required.
- Identify and address web accessibility issues and contribute to improving the overall accessibility and quality of the digital experience.
- Operate effectively within an established Agile or sprint-based development process and take ownership of assigned work from definition through completion.
- Collaborate closely with backend engineers, QA, and Production teams to align priorities, manage dependencies, and support successful delivery.
- Produce clean, well-scoped pull requests with appropriate documentation and respond constructively to code review feedback.
- Proactively identify and communicate technical risks, blockers, dependencies, and other issues that could affect project timelines or delivery.
- Contribute to the ongoing improvement of development practices and the long-term health of the application.
Requirements
- Senior-level experience as a Frontend or Full Stack Developer building, maintaining, and improving production digital experiences.
- Strong troubleshooting, debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound technical decisions independently.
- Demonstrated experience working within established codebases and identifying, prioritizing, and resolving technical debt.
- Hands-on experience identifying and resolving web accessibility issues.
- Strong software development practices, including clean pull requests, appropriate technical scoping, clear documentation, and responsiveness to code review.
- Experience working within an established Agile or sprint-based development environment.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, particularly when working across engineering, QA, and Production teams.
- Ability to quickly understand unfamiliar applications, development processes, and technical environments and begin delivering meaningful work with minimal guidance.
- Ability to manage assigned work independently while recognizing when collaboration or escalation is necessary.
- Strong attention to code quality, maintainability, and the overall user experience.
Conditions
- Freelance contract running from September 14 through October 30.
- Approximately 20 hours per week of commitment.
- Expected contract compensation of $60–$89 per hour.
- Contract compensation varies based on location, experience, and skillset.
- Regional U.S. pay ranges are adjusted according to cost of living.
