This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Global Marketing Brand & Content Manager based in Canada.
This is a strategic 18-month contract role focused on shaping a strong, differentiated global brand presence.
Responsibilities
- Lead the global brand narrative and storytelling strategy, translating business priorities into clear, compelling external messaging.
- Maintain a consistent brand voice, tone, positioning, and messaging across content, PR, social, and executive communications.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen thought leadership, category relevance, market authority, and customer education.
- Own the editorial strategy across thought leadership, campaigns, reports, blogs, customer stories, webinars, guides, playbooks, and other high-impact content.
- Develop strategic briefs, editorial angles, and creative direction for agencies, freelancers, and internal contributors.
- Oversee the development and quality of hero content while ensuring it supports both brand-building and demand-generation objectives.
- Review externally facing and product-related content for accuracy, clarity, credibility, audience relevance, and strategic alignment.
- Partner with Product Marketing to validate product positioning, claims, launch messaging, and customer-facing narratives.
- Lead global social strategy, including executive social and employee advocacy initiatives, while using performance insights to improve audience engagement.
- Manage agencies, freelancers, and AI-enabled workflows by setting priorities, providing feedback, and maintaining clear quality standards.
- Determine which activities are best handled by internal teams, external partners, AI workflows, or the role owner, ensuring efficient use of resources.
- Collaborate with Product Marketing, Demand Generation, Design, Customer Marketing, Product, Sales, and Marketing Operations to align priorities and connect campaign narratives.
- Use content, social, and campaign performance data to identify opportunities and translate insights into practical improvements.
- Keep the role focused on high-value strategic work while balancing competing stakeholder, regional, and campaign priorities.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in content marketing, editorial strategy, brand communications, integrated marketing, or a closely related discipline.
- Strong editorial judgment, storytelling instincts, writing, and editing capabilities.
- Proven experience developing and executing content strategies that support brand awareness, demand generation, customer education, and market authority.
- Demonstrated ability to shape narratives, create strategic briefs, and guide content from concept through launch and distribution.
- Strong understanding of brand voice, messaging, product positioning, and how communications influence business outcomes.
- Experience in B2B SaaS, technology, fintech, accounting, professional services, or a similar industry is preferred.
- Experience managing agencies, freelancers, and other external creative or communications partners.
- Strong familiarity with AI-enabled marketing and content workflows, including the ability to review and improve AI-generated content without compromising originality or accuracy.
- Excellent cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder-management skills, with experience working across Product Marketing, Demand Generation, Design, Sales, Product, and Customer Marketing.
- Ability to prioritize competing requests across teams, regions, campaigns, and business objectives.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret performance data and convert insights into actionable recommendations.
- Confidence balancing creative excellence with measurable business outcomes.
- Pragmatic, hands-on approach with the ability to move between strategic planning and execution when required.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence partners and stakeholders effectively in a global, distributed environment.
Conditions
- 18-month contract opportunity with a global, remote-first organization.
- Competitive Canadian compensation of CA$130,000–CA$150,000 annually, depending on location, experience, and skillset.
