About the company

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Principal Product Manager - Dealer Marketplace based in the United States.

Responsibilities
  • Own the multi-year vision, product strategy, and roadmap for the dealer marketplace, ensuring alignment with broader business objectives.
  • Lead the complete product lifecycle, from discovery and validation through delivery, measurement, optimization, and scaling.
  • Conduct customer research, product discovery, and competitive analysis to uncover unmet needs and identify opportunities for growth.
  • Prioritize initiatives based on customer value, business impact, technical feasibility, and measurable outcomes.
  • Partner closely with Engineering and Design to assess technical approaches, resolve trade-offs, and ensure high-quality product execution.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators covering financial performance, engagement, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
  • Communicate product strategy, priorities, trade-offs, progress, and results clearly to senior and executive leadership.
  • Bring structure and decisive action to complex and ambiguous product challenges while maintaining a strong customer and outcome focus.
  • Raise the standard of product management across the organization through coaching, mentoring, and knowledge sharing.
  • Contribute to building and leading the product organization as the portfolio and team continue to grow.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional and regional stakeholders to build alignment and deliver sustainable marketplace improvements.
Requirements
  • 8+ years of Product Management experience, including at least 3 years at Senior, Lead, or Principal level.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience developing, coaching, and elevating product management talent.
  • Proven success defining, launching, and scaling high-impact digital products with measurable business results.
  • Experience owning complex product domains from strategy through execution and optimization.
  • Strong strategic thinking, with the ability to connect product decisions to broader business objectives and translate vision into an actionable roadmap.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex strategies, trade-offs, and performance insights to executive audiences.
  • Strong customer discovery and research capabilities, with experience translating qualitative and quantitative insights into product decisions.
  • Advanced analytical skills and a data-driven approach to prioritization, experimentation, and performance measurement.
  • Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous, fast-changing environments with a strong bias toward action.
  • Proven ability to influence and align cross-functional teams without relying on formal authority.
  • Experience with wholesale automotive auctions, dealer marketplaces, or inventory and sales management systems is a plus.
  • Technical fluency and the ability to collaborate effectively with engineering teams on system-design decisions are advantageous.
  • Familiarity with Agile, Kanban, Lean, or SAFe methodologies is preferred.
  • A strong professional network and demonstrated ability to attract high-quality product talent are valued.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Technology, or a related field preferred; an MBA or other advanced degree is a plus.
