About the company

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Bioresources Project Engineer based in Brazil.

This is a key engineering role focused on delivering civil, mechanical, and related infrastructure projects across a complex operational environment.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage multiple engineering projects end-to-end, covering concept development, scoping, planning, implementation, commissioning, handover, and capitalisation, with project values ranging from £100K to £2 million.
  • Deliver civil and mechanical projects across operational assets, supporting the treatment, management, and disposal of biosolids and sludge.
  • Manage the inspection and refurbishment programme for sludge digesters and biosolids cake pads, ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Apply health, safety, and wellbeing standards consistently, maintaining high levels of compliance when working in high-risk operational and construction environments.
  • Ensure projects comply with applicable construction, design management, regulatory, and governance requirements, including CDM principles.
  • Manage project finances, including business case development, budget control, financial reporting, forecasting, and final capitalisation.
  • Manage contractors and suppliers across projects with varying levels of risk, including conducting safety audits and reviewing risk assessments and method statements.
  • Drive project performance against business KPIs, objectives, schedules, budgets, and quality expectations.
  • Develop strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including framework suppliers, operations, engineering, procurement, commercial, and project teams.
  • Apply a commercial and holistic approach to decision-making, balancing cost, risk, compliance, operational requirements, and long-term value.
  • Influence stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle to achieve right-first-time delivery and effective outcomes for end users.
Requirements
  • Proven experience delivering civil or mechanical engineering projects from concept through completion within an operational environment.
  • Strong understanding and practical experience of health and safety management within high-risk environments.
  • Knowledge of construction and design management principles, including CDM regulations, roles, responsibilities, and governance.
  • Experience managing multiple contractors, suppliers, and projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and deliver projects within agreed budgets, schedules, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience assessing risk assessments and method statements and ensuring appropriate controls are implemented.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to adapt communication styles when working with diverse, multi-generational teams.
  • Strong commercial awareness and financial management capabilities, including budget monitoring and reporting.
  • Good IT skills, particularly with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
  • Strong organisational, prioritisation, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • A proactive and accountable approach, with a strong commitment to safety, compliance, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
Conditions
  • Salary ranging from £37,000 to £57,000, depending on experience.
  • 28 days of annual leave plus bank holidays.
