Marketplace teams sit at the core of Lyft's products and decision-making, owning everything from rider pricing to driver earnings, incentives, and matching efficiency. The Planned Pricing team sits within Lyft's Marketplace org and is responsible for forecasting, planning, and setting prices ahead of demand.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, deploy, monitor, operate and maintain existing or new elements of our systems and infrastructure
- Collaborate with engineers and partners in science & product to drive projects from inception, specification, execution, to launch
- Write well-crafted, well-tested, readable and maintainable code
- Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and distribute knowledge
- Design and own the way pricing data is consumed, stored, and shared with the entirety of Lyft
- Share knowledge by giving brown bags, tech talks, and evangelizing engineering best practices
- Utilize expertise in Python, Golang, AWS to deliver robust and scalable solutions
Requirements
- 1 - 3 years of software engineering industry experience
- BS/MS or equivalent in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
- Extensive experience in object-oriented programming (ideally Python or Go)
- Experience writing clear, scalable design documentation
- Experience in backend software development of large-scale distributed systems and concurrency
- Strong oral and written communication skills
Conditions
- Hybrid schedule — expected to work in the office at least 3 days per week, including Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays
- Flexibility to work from anywhere for up to 4 weeks per year
- Expected base pay range in the Toronto area: CAD $108,000 - CAD $135,000
