About the company

ICEYE delivers space-based intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) capabilities to governments and allied nations. This includes sovereign and turnkey ISR missions leveraging ICEYE’s world-leading synthetic aperture radar (SAR) satellite technology, as well as access to data from the world’s largest SAR satellite constellation. These capabilities enable partners to detect and respond to critical changes anywhere on Earth with unprecedented speed and accuracy – day or night and in any weather, supported by ultra high-resolution imagery and high-frequency revisits.

As a trusted partner for defense, intelligence, security, and maritime domain awareness, ICEYE’s near real-time data creates a tactical advantage for mission-critical operations. Designed for dual use, the platform also serves civil protection and commercial users for natural-catastrophe intelligence, insurance, maritime monitoring (including oil-spill detection), and finance, contributing to global security and community resilience.

ICEYE operates internationally with offices in Finland, Poland, Spain, Japan, the UAE, Greece, and the US. The company has more than 900 employees, inspired by the shared vision of improving life on Earth by becoming the global source of truth in Earth Observation.

Responsibilities
  • Own the day-to-day assembly, inspection, and test of ICEYE's satellite electronics
  • Deliver the unit set reliably and on time
  • Guide your team through PCBA assembly, soldering, staking/bonding, conformal coating, and rework to IPC/ECSS workmanship standards
  • Be hands-on: support troubleshooting, unblock issues, and keep momentum
  • Own incoming verification of electronic components and boards
  • Ensure functional and electrical testing of each unit before release to integration
  • Maintain ESD control, configuration control, build discipline, and full traceability
  • Ensure active team participation in root cause analysis (led by AIT Engineering) by identifying key non-conformances, ensuring critical issues are communicated, and driving the resolution of the most impactful non-conformances for the production line.
  • Improve and standardize assembly and test work instructions, test procedures, and checklists
  • Turn unclear or incomplete instructions into clear, usable processes; reduce tribal knowledge
  • Define and improve tooling, test benches, and fixtures with AIT and Production Engineering
  • Drive throughput and yield while protecting quality
  • Lead, coach, and grow a team of electronics engineers and technicians
  • Build a culture of ownership, accountability, and pride in workmanship
  • Develop the right competence across assembly, inspection, and electrical/functional test
  • Act as the bridge between production and AIT engineering
  • Ensure your team has clear, actionable engineering inputs
  • Push for fast, practical decisions when things are unclear or blocking
  • Collaborate with Quality, Planning, Mission Management, and the other two production teams (Electronics; RF, Systems & Software)
  • Prepare electronics production for higher volumes
  • Improve planning, predictability, and throughput
  • Define and track KPIs; drive initiatives to reduce integration and test time
  • Utilize Value Stream Mapping (VSM) to identify bottlenecks and optimize the end-to-end production flow.
Requirements

Must haves:

  • Experience leading electronics production / PCBA teams in a hands-on environment
  • Strong understanding of electronics assembly and test — SMT/through-hole, soldering, conformal coating, staking, rework
  • Familiarity with IPC (e.g., IPC-A-610, J-STD-001) and/or ECSS workmanship standards for high-reliability electronics
  • Experience with functional and electrical testing of electronic units (and reading schematics, assembly drawings, and test procedures)
  • A hands-on mindset — comfortable at the bench and close to the team
  • Experience improving processes, not just running them
  • Strong ESD, traceability, and configuration-control discipline
  • Familiarity with production environments and scaling operations
  • Strong communication skills
Conditions
  • Employment type: Permanent
  • Working model: On-site
  • Employment is subject to applicable security screening (incl. SUPO)
