Staff Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and operate distributed backend systems for ingesting, normalising, processing, storing, and delivering real-time market data
• Build and maintain robust streaming infrastructure handling event ordering, timestamps, duplicate records, replay, missing data, recovery, blockchain reorganisations, transaction finality
• Develop reliable client-facing data feeds and APIs with delivery guarantees, evolving schemas, access controls, predictable performance
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on reference data models, historical data capture, integration of new data sources
• Establish and improve SLOs and data quality metrics
• Investigate production issues, conduct root cause analyses, implement durable fixes
• Own services throughout their lifecycle, including on-call rotation
• Integrate AI-assisted development tools throughout the engineering workflow
• Lead technical decisions across team boundaries and mentor engineers

Requirements

• Extensive experience building and operating distributed backend systems or data services
• Strong expertise in real-time streaming systems: concurrency, state management, backpressure, event processing, recovery
• Deep understanding of data correctness and integrity
• Strong CS fundamentals and advanced backend engineering skills in Rust, Go, or comparable languages
• Ability to translate ambiguous requirements into clear architectural designs
• Experience taking end-to-end ownership of software systems
• Strong technical leadership and mentoring skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with financial or market data is valuable
• Familiarity with blockchain data and indexing (EVM-compatible networks or Solana) is a plus
• Experience with reference data systems is advantageous
