This role will be working at Lion Studios, a mobile games publisher that works with mobile developers to get their games discovered by players around the world. Headquartered in San Francisco, Lion Studios’ creative and strategy teams utilize their expertise to help game developers break through the noise and grow their businesses.
Responsibilities
- Design engaging & challenging core gameplay loops, player experiences, and monetization strategies.
- Partner with external studios in Turkey throughout the new game development pipeline, from early concepts to playable builds.
- Design new mechanics that enhance depth and progression while fitting seamlessly into the game’s design approach.
- Evaluate player data, identify trends, and optimize level funnels for retention and monetization.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with developers to align with overall product goals.
- Keep an eye on top-performing games to understand market trends and extract insights.
Requirements
- At least 3+ years of experience as a game designer, or in a similar field.
- Professional experience in game design, with the ability to contribute across mechanics, systems, progression, and player experience.
- Confidence using data and player insights to identify design problems and recommend solutions.
- Strong creative and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders to align design with the product vision.
- Advanced analytical skills, ability to spot patterns and trends.
- Experience with balancing levels and funnel optimization.
- Fluency in Turkish and the ability to communicate effectively with Turkish-speaking studio teams.
