Responsibilities

• Shape hardware decisions: SoC, flash/RAM, and sensor selection, validated on prototypes
• Bring up new platforms and prototypes from virgin silicon: configure I/O, get SPI, I2C, UART, BLE working, debug system init
• Own peripheral drivers, secure bootloaders, device firmware updates, and core management layers like power and connectivity
• Design protocols and hardware management for battery-powered sensors and gateways with focus on power efficiency
• Partner with product, full-stack, mobile, and quality engineers
• Mentor engineers and raise the bar for engineering practices

Requirements

• 8+ years building firmware for resource-constrained systems
• Led firmware development for several new products end to end
• Substantial bare-metal experience
• Experience with C for MCU-based platforms and Golang for embedded Linux applications (exact tech not required)
• Familiarity with Google protocol buffers and AWS technologies is a plus
